Kristine practised civil litigation for 23 years mainly in Calgary before being appointed to the Court of Queen’s Bench of Alberta in 2007. She retired from the Bench in February 2022, after 15 years, and has started an independent and private arbitration and mediation practice. 

 

While on the Bench, Kristine was a member of the Commercial Insolvency group of judges who heard oil and gas, mining, corporate commercial and real estate disputes regularly.  She is fluently bilingual and conducted many trials, and wrote, in French. 

 

Prior to her appointment, Kristine was a commercial litigation partner with Bennett Jones, LLP. She had also been a partner with Fraser Milner Casgrain (now Denton’s), where she had a diverse civil litigation practice, and for many years, led the litigation group locally and nationally. She was appointed Queen’s Counsel in 2004.
